About Me

I was born and raised in Tunbridge Wells, where I first went to St John’s Primary School and then Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys. In my final year at TWGSB I served as Head Boy, focusing on trying to raise awareness of sexual harassment, sexism, and homophobia. During my time in Tunbridge Wells, I have spent time working, pulling pints in a local pub and also as a Teaching Assistant.

I am currently studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of York where I work as a Student Ambassador, aiming to improve access to university for those from underrepresented backgrounds. While at university, I am also working as a Political Researcher for Iain Dale, with our most recent book being British General Election Campaigns 1830-2019.

I first stood in an election in May 2023, when I was the youngest candidate across Tunbridge Wells. I was proud of the positive campaign that I ran and after the election I spoke to TWGSB Connect about my experience standing, along with later writing in the Times of Tunbridge Wells about the need for more young people in local politics. I stood again in May this year, and was delighted to receive the votes of 717 people in Southborough and Bidborough ward.

I remember first being aware of politics in 2015, when my primary school ran a mock election to correspond with the General Election. Rightly, in true Tunbridge Wells fashion, even with an electorate of ages 5 to 11, the Conservative Party won! In the last few years I have become actively involved in the political process, campaigning in elections since I was 16. I was elected as Chairman of the Tunbridge Wells Young Conservatives in 2023, having previously been Deputy Chairman. In August 2023, I was delighted to be appointed Young Conservatives Coordinator for Kent.

Since being involved in politics I have also had the opportunity to shadow a number of senior figures. Completing work experience with my political mentor Greg Clark MP, along with Penny Mordaunt MP and Julian Sturdy MP, has proved to me how politicians can change people’s lives for the better. Equally, my time at the Telegraph and LBC has showed me the huge influence that the media can wield.

I published my first book, The Modern Prime Ministers in 2020, which was followed by I Was The Future Once: A David Cameron Biography in 2021. The books were well reviewed and covered by local media, with my first book acting as a fundraiser for TWGSB’s Sixth Form Centre Project. I then published a Revised and Updated Edition of I Was The Future Once in March 2023, covering Cameron’s post premiership years.

Outside of politics, as my friends and family will confirm, I am a massive fan of Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. I was lucky enough to see Gaga at a concert in London during the summer of 2022, and received a signed copy of Swift’s Midnights album. Attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley over the summer will easily be one of my highlights of the year! At the University of York, I am also a proud member of the Taylor Swift Society, which was the first of its kind nationally!

Also, if you happen to send me a message at the same time that a new Star Wars show or film has been released, it might take me a little longer than normal to reply as I am a huge fan!
